Editor Jim
McCarty joined the staff of Rural Missouri in
1985. A University of Missouri School of Journalism graduate,
Jim has been honored by the Cooperative
Communicators Association as 1994 "Writer of the
Year" and
has received that organization's coveted Michael Graznik
young communicator award. Twice, Jim has led the Rural
Missouri staff
to national recognition as the recipient of George W. Haggard
Memorial Journalism Award from the National
Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Production Manager Mary
Davis joined Rural Missouri in 1990 after
working for the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Mary is
the liason with our printer, handles postal issues and oversees
the budgeting process for Rural Missouri and is responsible
for all of the display advertising in
Rural Missouri and also assists the entire staff with computer
graphics. |
A
University of Missouri School of Journalism graduate, Managing
editor Bob McEowen worked
as a newspaper photographer before joining Rural Missouri in
1989. Bob is a four-time CCA Photographer
of the Year winner. Bob coordinates the editorial content for
Rural Missouri and is administrator of the Web sites for Rural
Missouri and the Association
of Missouri Electric Cooperatives.

Associate
Editor Heather Berry left
Gov. John Ashcroft's press staff to join Rural Missouri in
1989. In addition to regular features Heather produces our Home
and Hearth page and is the alter-ego of Buddy Bear, Rural
Missouri's Just 4 Kids mascot.
Heather also handles freelance submissions.

Field Editor Jason
Jenkins comes to us from the University of Missouri Extension and Ag Information
News Group where he was a news writer and photographer. He
is a 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri Ag Journalism
program and is a member of
both the Missouri Outdoor Communicators and the Outdoor Writers Association of America, serving as that group’s
Education Committee chairman.

assistant, Jammie
Alber handles our classified
advertising and subscriptions and
untold other responsibilities. During the middle of August, she's
often found inside a bear suit as she appears as Buddy Bear at
the Missouri State Fair's MEC Building
